A celebration of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences’ (IVA) first hundred years. During the evening we will discuss Science and Engineering challenges for the future, evidence for policymaking and show highlights from the history of the Academy. Speakers include the Presidents of the two academies, Dr TuulaTeeri an d Dr. John L. Anderson, the Ambassador of Sweden to the United States, H.E. Karin Olofsdotter as well as the chair of the Swedish Innovation Agency Dr. Anna Nilsson-Ehle.

Celebrations will continue with a US-Swedish seminar 'Inclusive learning, education and workforce development in future societies' on some of the most important topics facing our societies such as how to:

• Handle the need for lifelong learning and workforce development.

• Increase the participation in education by underprivileged groups.

• Increase the interest in science, technology, engineering and math’s among the young.

• Benefit the most from digitalisation in education?

The seminar will include many prominent speakers such as: Dr. France Córdova, Director of the National Science Foundation, Dr. Anna Nilsson-Ehle, Chairperson of the Swedish Innovation Agency, Dr. John Anderson, President of the National Academy of Engineering, H.E. Karin Olofsdotter, Ambassador of Sweden to the United States, Dr. Tuula Teeri, President of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
